Recombinant adenovirus(AdV)is a replication deficient adenovirus vector system widely used in fields such as gene therapy and basic life science research. The commonly used adenovirus vectors are based on human adenovirus type 5(Ad5),Its genome is a 36 kb long linear double stranded DNA.Adenoviruses can be internalized into cells through their own fibers and receptor binding on the cell surface, and then transferred from the endosome to the cytoplasm and nucleus, using the cell's transcription and translation machines to initiate virus replication and assembly. A complete viral life cycle can trigger cell death and release viral particles.
Adenovirus characteristics
Wide range of infection
Adenovirus can be used for infection in ordinary cell lines, as well as in suspension cells, primary cells, etc.
High infection efficiency
The titer of adenoviruses can reach up to1011PFU/ml,High infection efficiency, can infect suspended cells, primary cells, etc.
Large carrier capacity
The vector capacity of adenoviruses is large, up to 8kb.
